PowerShell for Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Administrators

It’s an honor for us to be able to announce that our book PowerShell for Microsoft SharePoint 2010 Administrators is now published! This Friday it was published in the US and at www.amazon.com. Within the next couple of weeks it will also be available in the rest of the world, at book stores and at different internet stores shipping to local addresses.

The final book ended in 368 pages that stretches over 21 chapters. The book is divided in three parts. The first part gives an introduction to the changes in SharePoint 2010 and set the terminology for the coming chapters. In the second part we go through the basics of PowerShell before we move on to the third part which is the majority of the book. Here we use real life scenarios and hands-on guides with a lot of code examples to explain how to automate and take full control over your SharePoint 2010 environment using PowerShell.

PowerShell will have a huge impact on how SharePoint administrators work. This is so far the only book covering everything you need to know about managing SharePoint 2010 with PowerShell and we hope you will enjoy it.

Niklas and I have just finished our tour in the pacific where we had the honor to speak at both the New Zealand and the Australian SharePoint conference. We are of course very proud and excited even if we still have a couple of chapters left to write before we are completely finished. We are now entering the final phase and we have 1-1.5 month left but with all the positive feedback from both readers of our blogs, people we meet at events and from Microsoft it makes it much easier and all worth it.

On Tuesday the 23rd of February a SharePoint user group will be held in Gotheburg, and you all are more then welcome! It’s been more then a year since the Swedish SharePoint User Group was here in Gothenburg. And it’s about time since the community is growing strong here on the west coast. It’s also a special honour to be able to open up the facilities of Enfo Zipper where I’m working for this first event that we will try to keep bi-monthly.

We will have two sessions where the first one will be a very interested session on SharePoint in Enterprise environment held by Mattias Hogland from Volvo IT. The second session will be about Administrating SharePoint 2010 with PowerShell and Niklas and I will kick this one off.
